2. Compile Source

Note

The Debian and Buildroot system use the same SDK source package. The difference lies in the rootfs.img used, meaning the steps for building the filesystem are different, while the other steps are the same.

❶ Unzip source

1tar xvf rk3588-linux6.1-rkr7.tar.bz2
2cd rk3588-linux6.1-rkr7

❷ Configuration

1./build.sh lunch

After running ./build.sh lunch, the system will list available defconfig files. Select 2. boardcon_em3588_defconfig, this configuration ensures hardware compatibility with the EM3588 development board. Using other options may cause kernel mismatches and prevent proper booting.

❸ Compile uboot

1./build.sh uboot

❹ Compile kernel

1./build.sh kernel

❺ Compile recovery

1./build.sh recovery

❻ Compile rootfs

Note

If it is the first time compiling Debian, please install the dependency packages first. Debian compilation requires a dependent environment.

2sudo apt-get install binfmt-support qemu-user-static live-build
3sudo dpkg -i ubuntu-build-service/packages/*
4sudo apt-get install -f

1sudo ./build.sh debian

After compilation, linaro-rootfs.img is generated in the debian directory.

❼ Generate and Check Firmwares

1./build.sh firmware

After the command is completed, the image files and update.img are generated in directory rockdev/
